Our Vision
What we want to be and are called to be

Rooted in Christ. Growing in Faith. Love in the World.

Our Mission Statement
Who we are and what we do

We are a people who recognize we are human and life is messy. In Christ and

animated by the Holy Spirit, we:

  • Receive God’s abundant grace.

  • Create a safe place together, encouraging and supporting one another, exploring faith with an open mind and heart, and sharing hope in the living Christ.

  • Celebrate the holy in everyday life.

  • Bear Christ’s love into our community and the world.

Our Guiding Principles
Beliefs and practices that help us live into our vision and mission

  • Jesus is Lord so Jesus is our ultimate authority and guide.

  • The words and ways of Jesus shape our ways of being and living.

  • All people have dignity and worth because every person is a beloved child of God.

  • Grace is a freely given gift of God, regardless of worth or merit.

  • The power of God’s redeeming love at work in our lives (together and as individuals) transforms us and makes us whole.

  • Life-giving relationships are shaped and held together by practicing grace. These relationships of grace are rooted and growing in an environment of forgiveness, patient listening and willingness to humbly work through conflict and disagreement.

  • A spirit of generosity with the gifts God has given us—time, money, and talents—amplifies and proclaims God’s abundance into the world.

History

Christ Lutheran Church has evolved from a congregation of German immigrants who arrived in the area in the mid 1850's. Currently located in the Village of Lake Elmo, CLC is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are an active congregation and are eager to love into our call as disciples of Jesus Christ.
